How to prepare your Epson product for a period of inactivity?
With the Coronavirus now an issue worldwide, we want to share the steps to take with your Epson product so it may be left inactive for a length of time, below you can find the recommended steps to take before any period of inactivity.

If your product is within its warranty period now but it due to expire over the coming weeks, we will be reviewing case by case gesture of goodwill repairs on products with a failure after this period of inactivity. We would also suggest checking product is in full working order and keeping a complete nozzle check for your records before shutting down as this may be requested once business resumes. |

Steps
Before any period of inactivity:
- Make sure the printer is cleaned of excess paper dust or other contamination.
- Remove media loaded and keep separate.
After any period of inactivity:
- Power on the machine.
- Remove each ink make sure to shake well at least 20 times then reinsert.
- Once ink is inserted run a clean on all nozzles then perform nozzle check.
- Continue to clean as required until nozzle check is full and complete.

The following should be carried out if the printer is not used more than two weeks:
- Requires Engineer with service program
- Perform all manual maintenance around the print head and cap station making sure to clean thoroughly prior to shut down.
- Remove all the ink tanks and chip units and discard them
- Run through Pre-Storage maintenance mode ensuring you have cleaning cartridges available. This can be found in the user manual on Epson.co.uk on how to perform.
After any period of inactivity:
- Install the new ink tanks to prevent the foreign materials from intruding the ink holder during transferring/left unused.
- Follow instructions in service manual to swap from cartridge’s back to ink tanks Once ink lines are full perform nozzle check to ensure quality before starting to print.
- Perform cleans as required.
